The integrated region of cultivation and grazing has the potentiality of desertification because of the semiarid monsoon climate. The unsuitable land use and management promote the desertification developing rapidly. But if we took suitable land use and management, the desertification could be prohibited and the land use could be toward sustainability. Yijinhuoluo Banner was taken as acase study to reveal the relationship between land use and desertification, and to illustrate how to prevent desertification and how to make land use sustainable by adjusting land use structure and improving land management.
