With the assistance of the classified map of land use types and according to the hydrographic data , we study how the forest types and the rate of forest covera ge (total 8 factors) affect the rainfall and runoff by the method of gray correl ation analysis. As a result we known the best forest types which have the closes t relationship with the water conservation function . The study affords referenc es for improving the water conservation function of forest in the area.
