Hillclosing afforestation techniques on bare grit and rock area, af forestation practices on dry and impoverished hilly region, and dry farming and cultivation practices of fruit trees were systematically dissertated according t o the general situation on hilly region in Shandong province. The theoretical ba sis of integrated afforestation and control of water and soil loss were put forw ard for dry farming and cultivation.
