As for the ecological fragility in Shanxi province, the paper analyses the objective conditions of its formation and presents both the dominant and basic influential factors. With the process of the index of basic influential factors in the counties and cities in Shanxi province, their values of comprehensive index are achieved and five types of ecological fragile regions are classified. To further the research of types of ecological fragile regions reasonable suggestions are provided.
